Welcome Back!

The cafeteria buzzed with excitement early Monday morning as students stepped onto campus for the first day of a brand new school year.  With new backpacks and new shoes, students filed through the school doors to meet old friends and find many new faces, 59 new faces to be exact.  There were a few butterflies but they were hidden behind wide eyes and even wider smiles. “Good Morning, Romans!” cried Mr. Fulford over the PA system, to which the students responded with applause.  We began our first school year as we begin all things, in prayer, thanking God for the More...

Godspell Jr!

On Friday evening at 7:00 on the dot, the lights went dim in the Conmy Center.  Spotlights burst onto the stage revealing a colorful set straight out of the hippie era, and as the eyes of the audience adjusted to the dazzling scenery, dozens of OLL students flowed from behind, in front of, and around the stage sporting elated grins and spirited voices.  After months of preparation, Godspell Jr. had begun! Godspell Jr. is a child-friendly rendition of the Broadway classic, sharing many of the scenes and songs from the adult show but making the content accessible for family audiences.  More...

Resurrecting our Hearts

It is no wonder why the Easter season falls during Spring, a time of resurrection and transfiguration throughout all of God’s creation.  As little buds pop up from the ground and tiny chrysalises dangle from branches, it feels as though all of nature is preparing for the Resurrection of our Lord.  Our littlest ones at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School have been quite observant of these changes around us and are drawing parallels between the Spring season and what we as Christians celebrate on Easter Sunday. The EC4 class has been learning about recycling, the process of transforming something More...

Celebrating All Saints

Celebrating All Saints Earlier this month, we celebrated the feast of All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation that honors all saints canonized in the Catholic Church. At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, we used this opportunity to delve into this rich element of our Church’s history and discover new things about these important people who went before us in our faith. The Little Way Our Kindergarten class adopted St. Therese of Lisieux as their class patroness.  St. Therese, known as “The Little Flower of Jesus,” was a French Carmelite nun who is remembered for her love of More...
