Each year, the graduating class of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School collaborates to draft their “thank you letter” encompassing their thoughts and emotions surrounding graduation. Ever have one of those moments where an idea seems so good in your head, but you just can’t seem to put it into words? While we can’t remedy this occurrence completely, our Middle School teachers have equipped students with a digital tool that allows them to map out the ideas in their mind and guides them through the thought process, allowing more clarity in articulation, comprehension, and presentation. The “Total Recall” iPad app allows students to build “Mind Maps” of their thoughts and then links those thoughts together in meaningful ways. The middle school Brain Bowl team was victorious at the Clearwater Central Catholic annual academic competition on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Eight students from 8th grade including Marissa, Marisa, Michael, Hunter, April, Ben, Rachel, and Dylan brought back a first place trophy for our trophy case. The students answered questions all day and showed that knowledge in many subjects pays off!
