This week, students at Our Lady of Lourdes celebrated and honored those who serve our nation through public office, government, and the armed forces. On Tuesday, students prepared for the election in a wide range of ways, from teddy bears to Twitter feeds. On Thursday, our community celebrated a special Mass in honor of our nation’s veterans, then hosted a special brunch for those who have served in our armed forces and their families. Election Day!
“A Vote for Max is a Vote for Fun” The tone grew quiet in the cafeteria as the candidates stepped forward to the podium. Ms. Schaibly called them by name, introducing each candidate, their grade level, and the office for which they were running. The student body listened attentively as one by one the candidates stepped to the microphone to pitch their campaign in two minutes or less.
