Last month, the Robotics Club of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School participated in the annual Robofest competition in Clearwater, Florida. Robofest, a youth robotics competition that challenges teams to design, produce, and demonstrate their own homemade robot controlled from a board. Students work together for weeks prior to the competition to strategize and develop their plan. Under the guidance of their coaches, third grader Jacob Lynn and seventh graders Elliana Bassous, Adam Myerscough, Alex Casano, and Collin Welsh created their robot. Robotics Victory!
On Saturday, March 20, the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School Robotics Team placed first in the Florida RoboFest competition. This is the second consecutive year that this group of OLL students, ranging from 5th to 8th grade, won first place in this rigorous engineering event, beating out some very talented competition from other Middle School students around the state of Florida. OLL Robotics Club Takes First Place!
The OLL Robotics Club members – Adam, Alex and Tom participated in their very first Robo-fest Robofashion Competition on Saturday, March 19th at the Ross Norton Recreation Center. In their first competition, the boys took first place. What a fantastic showing!
