Advent Happenings

In order to fully enter into the season of Advent, each of our ten classes have found their own unique ways to welcome Christ into their hearts.  From art projects to service projects, the students of Our Lady of Lourdes are actively participating in the deepening of their faith.  Due to our vacation schedule, we will begin our celebration of the Christmas season this coming Monday, and our students will tell you that they are certainly prepared to celebrate the birth of the King! Our Advent Prayer

As we journey through this Advent season, we prepare ourselves and wait, once again, for Christ to be born in our hearts.  We don our Advent wreaths with new candles sparkling pink and purple among the evergreen and place our Nativity scenes back on their traditional place of honor on the mantle to remind ourselves of the one we truly wait for – the infant King to save the world.  Often in our society, we lose sight of Advent in our preparation for the Christmas season.  The students, faculty, and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes are taking special strides More...

Generous Hearts

This year, in keeping with a long standing tradition, the students of Grade Four and Grade Five collaborated on a special Christmas project to benefit the children of a local migrant community.  The project, which began back in October, involves the entire school under the leadership of these two special classes.  Earlier this week, with toys, candy, tinsel, and bows, the project culminated with a morning of gift wrapping and Christmas cheer.   Candy Drive During the month of October, students in Fourth and Fifth Grade work together to plan and advertise a school-wide candy drive.  They distributed posters and More...

The OLL Jesse Tree

Our Lady of Lourdes Jesse Tree This Advent Season has been such a blessing for the community at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.  With our weekly prayer services, classroom service projects, school-wide spiritual devotions, and over 100 handmade Advent wreaths, we were truly being intention about preparing our hearts for the birth of the Savior.
