Guidance

Our school counselor is Mrs. Mary Surico Gross. She has worked in the Diocese of St. Petersburg for the past sixteen years as the counselor at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Seminole, and Bishop Larkin Catholic School in Port Richey.

A native of Chicago, Mrs. Gross has been in Catholic education since she entered first grade at St. Mary Star of the Sea in 1960. She attended Maria High School and St. Xavier College with a B.A. in Education, then returned to St. Mary’s as a second grade teacher. She taught at both the elementary grade and high school levels. While teaching math at St. Rita, an all boys Catholic high school, she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work and joined the counseling staff.

Mrs. Gross is very happy to return to a school named after Our Lady.
