KINDERGARTEN CURRICULUM
Language Arts, Social Studies and Science:
These subjects are taught using the Starfall Program. The Starfall Program is a fun, creative, and sequentially integrated program. Starfall strives to create a healthy balance between teacher-directed and child-centered instruction and learning. A unique advantage of this program is that every skill, story, and objective that the children
are introduced to at school can be accessed at home at Starfall.com. Starfall teaches Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Fluency, and Writing.
Mathematics:
The Kindergarten Mathematics program provides students with mathematical experiences that help them develop a positive attitude towards mathematics that will continue through their school career and their lives. There is a great deal of literature integrated into the math program and a hands-on approach provides a fun way to learn. The program covers the following concepts: Problem Solving, Number Sense, Computation, Patterns, Relations and Functions, Geometry, Measurement, Statistics and Probability.
Religion:
The Kindergarten Religion program focuses on prayer, creation, God’s love, the church and the Mass. Also, special lessons on the Liturgical year and Seasons are taught. The class attends weekly school Liturgies as a part of the Religion program. The Sadlier We Believe series is used throughout the school.
