Every year during the last week in January, Catholic Schools around the country observe Catholic Schools Week in celebration of our faith family. At OLL, Catholic Schools Week serves as a sort of Spirit Week with special activities each day. We hope you will join with us our celebration!
Monday January 28: Buddy Day and Picnic!
Buddy Day will include a special Open Air Lunch and Walk-a-Thon to benefit the Kimberly Home. Students are welcome to bring a blanket and a bag lunch from home, or purchase a picnic lunch from Chef Tulio. We will sit outside with our buddies and share a great meal, then participate in our annual Walk-a-Thon with a special guest DJ from Spirit FM! All students will spend a great afternoon on the back field growing in fellowship and fun.
Tuesday January 29: 8th Grade Take Over!
Our 8th Grade Students will take over the classrooms for the entire morning, working side-by-side our teachers, administrators and staff. 8th Graders will wear special professional attire to accommodate their new roles. Look for them around campus on this exciting day!
Wednesday January 30: Vocations Day!
All students will dress out in a special color scheme to represent the Church hierarchy. Each religion class will discuss vocations and the meanings behind each color, celebrating the wonderful traditions of our Catholic faith.
Thursday January 31: Grandparents Day & Winter Open House!
All grandparents are invited to join us for the 9:00 am School Mass followed by a special reception in the Conmy Center. Following the reception, grandparents will walk to their grandchild’s classroom for a special activity.
All parents, both current and prospective, are invited to join us for a special Winter Open House and Wine Tasting event! Classrooms will be on display for Friday’s Multi-Cultural Festival and teachers will be available to speak about curriculum, programming, and the wonderful aspects of OLL!
Friday February 1: Multi-Cultural Day!
Students will participate in a day-long festival celebrating cultures from around the world. Every class chose a country and has been working on and learning about that country for the past several weeks. During the morning, students will take a tour around the world by visiting each classroom, all of which have been transformed into their country of study! In the afternoon, there will be a fashion show depicting trends from the different cultures studied by our students.
