Father Gary Dowsey, Pastor

Gary_Father78Father Gary Dowsey was born in London, England. He was ordained to the priesthood on July 12, 1980 at St. Mary’s Church, Great Yarmouth, situated on the east coast of England. During his time as a priest, he has served as the private secretary to the Bishop of East Anglia, the Diocesan Communications Officer, and the Chaplain to the University of East Anglia. Father Gary has much experience in educational ministry, having worked as a chaplain on both the high school and college level.

In 2000, Father Gary’s vocation brought him to the Diocese of St. Petersburg. He served nearly three years at St. James in New Port Richey, one year at Nativity in Brandon, and two years at St. Jerome in Indian Rocks. In 2007, he was granted incardination to the Diocese of St Petersburg and was appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in July of 2007.

Darrell Fulford, M.Ed., Principal

Fulford_Darrell72Mr. Darrell W. Fulford is our school principal. Originally from Tampa, Mr. Fulford has worked for the School District of Hillsborough County, where he began his career in education serving as both a Bilingual Paraprofessional for the ESOL program as well as Assistant Teacher for the Reading program. Mr. Fulford graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in International Studies, where he went on to teach in the Diocese of Venice at St. John Neumann Catholic High School in Naples.

While in Naples, Mr. Fulford completed his Education course work at Florida Gulf Coast University through the Teacher Immersion Program. During this time, Mr. Fulford also completed his M.Ed in Administration and Supervision through the Catholic School Leadership program at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Most recently Mr. Fulford served as principal in the Archdiocese of Miami before returning home to the Diocese of St. Petersburg and joining us here at Our Lady of Lourdes. Mr. Fulford is happy to be back home and accompanied by his wife and three daughters, has made Our Lady of Lourdes his parish community.
