In the intermediate grades at Our Lady of Lourdes, students make the transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” While these classes still emphasize the fundamentals of literacy, our intermediate programs use the subject areas of science, social studies, and religion to enhance reading instruction. Our faculty work collaboratively to design project-based instruction, creating real-time, experiential learning adventures that give students a deeper understanding of science, social studies, and religion content while expanding their reading and writing skills, empowering critical thinking and application.
Students in the intermediate grades of elementary school are creative, spontaneous, eager, and brilliantly inspired. Our Mission is to capture that spirit and feed it, nurture it, and nourish it until it blossoms beyond our wildest expectations.
